How to Create Your Own Personal Sensual Space

Sensual SpaceMost of us are sexual creatures. There are a few who would describe themselves as sensualists. Sensualists crave sensual pleasures, interests and experiences.  The word sensual conjures up images of luxury and having plenty of time to enjoy making love with one’s partner or partners.

Sex is about more than the physical act; it is about the pleasure and fulfillment of all parties. Sure, sometimes a quickie could be just what the doctor had prescribed but in other times it helps to savour your lovemaking.

And for this a personal space – wherever it may be – could do the trick. This space should be for you alone. If you have a lover you could invite him or her to help you create it; you’ll both get pleasure from it.

Should it be inside or do you have enough space to create something that’ll make you feel intimate outside? This space can be as ornate or as simplistic as you prefer it to be. There are no rules. The only rule to follow is that you should please all your senses: touch, sight, hearing, taste, and smell.

Perhaps you can get adult furniture such as a tantra lounge or a wedgie. These make a couple of positions that much easier – or more interesting, at the very least. Place the furniture where it won’t be hidden away and follow the rest of our tips on how to create your sensual space.

Touch

Natural fabrics win over synthetics. Adorn your space with silk and fabrics that make you feel good. Don’t forget those toys! Also add some pillows, blankets, lubricant, and towels.

Sight

The space can be glamorous, pretty or zen-like. It’s up to you. But make it somewhere that you’ll feel comfortable in; it should be a space you’ll yearn for at 3pm when you’re busy with spreadsheets at work.

Hearing

Play some music. Or insulate yourself against the outside noise. The music doesn’t have to be sleazy; you could play bagpipes if that’s what works for you. Make it something you enjoy listening to.

Taste

How about something to nibble on? Do you like chocolate, fruit or both? Feel free to have these around even when you’re not planning on having sex.

Smell

Sure, the brain is everyone’s favourite – or 2nd favourite – muscle but smell is just as potent. That’s how we sense our mate’s pheromones. Try not to interfere with the natural smells unless you really have to. But a whiff of a little something pleasant can’t hurt.
